Adding a new studio addition

This customer needed to add space for a studio and guest bathroom off the back of the house. A new heating system was needed also along with an unfinished great room. Plans for this renovation had to include provisions for a future garage being built next to the home with drainage from the studio going under ground through the driveway.

New studio/furnace room New bath/laundry room

After the plans were all set to go we needed to get braking ground before winter. A little cold but we managed! Part of the old garage corner had to be removed to provide a framed wall for the bathroom to be added above. It was decided after work began to remove the small sink and add a doorway to the new great room which was created from an old garage space. Radiant heat was put in the studio under a new stained concrete floor.

Before

The new studio space has a tongue and grove pine ceiling, a new Marvin 8′ sliding door for easy access to the patio. All new trim to match existing in the house with dark chocolate stain. A new utility room was added in the studio closet area to house the new gas furnace which replaced the old oil burner at the opposite end of the house.
